“Celebrate the everyday.” It’s the unofficial motto of Raymond James Irwin and his Fizz Champagne and Bubbles Bar.
“People want to drink champagne every day and don’t realize they can,” says the Chief Champagne Officer of Fizz, which is set to expand from Sacramento to Walnut Creek. “They need someone to give them permission. I do believe we’re changing lives one glass at a time.”

The East Bay has a healthy dose of destination-worthy wine bars that showcase domestic and international bottles, flights and wines by the glass, from Residual Sugar and Va De Vi, both in Walnut Creek, to Oakland’s acclaimed Snail Bar and Daytrip, which specialize in natural wines.
But the area hasn’t had a place specifically designed for bubbly-sipping, until this year.

A new bar focused on sparkling wines and champagnes is coming soon to Walnut Creek . Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar is the newest tenant at 1652 Bonanza St. , where they’ve just applied for their ABC license.
Fizz was founded in Sacramento by Raymond James Irwin, whose passion for champagne began when he tried his first small house champagne while working at L’albatros Brasserie + Bar in Cleveland, Ohio. This passion took him all over the world, as he set out to find the most unique champagnes and sparkling wines for his own bar in 2016.

You’ve got your wine bars, your craft breweries, and your tequila specialists, so why not go for a sparkly center? That concept has worked for Fizz in Sacramento, and so come September, the Walnut Creek version (across from Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse) will offer 150 champagnes by the bottle and 25 by the glass, plus oysters, caviar, and duck fries.

The Lyric is getting a new tenant mix. Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar and a yoga studio are joining the new Caribbean hot spot, Lita, on the ground floor. Next door, buildout has begun on Limon—a high end hair salon with roots in the South Bay.
